During the month of October, United Ministries holds an annual Walk for the Homeless. This four-mile walk through
Greenville, "walks the walk" of the homeless as the route passes by many of the agencies that assist them.
The proceeds from our Walk for the Homeless go entirely to fund programs at Place of Hope, a day shelter for those who are homeless. It provides folks with a place to shower, do laundry, make phone calls, and collect their mail. Place of Hope also provides counseling to help address the circumstances that made folks homeless and to help participants find homes.
The 2010 Walk was on Sunday, October 17, and began at Fluor Field (Greenville Drive Stadium).
