Stephen Ministry

Stephen Ministry is a Christ-centered ministry of presence by lay persons in the congregation. The confidential, one-to-one care is available to all in our church home and in the community who are experiencing all of life's joys and challenges. Stephen Ministers are trained to provide a listening ear, a well of support in the midst of life's trials and struggles. They seek to be ambassadors of Christ's love.  Candidates receive 50 hours of classroom training before being commissioned.  Stephen Ministers meet monthly for continuing education and small group support.  Members who are in a caring relationship spend about one hour a week in service.  The initial commitment to the training and work is a two-year term.  The next training session runs from January through April 2012. Contact Associate Pastor, Dave Sems, with questions or to learn more.
