Senior Adults

Several activities have been planned for the senior adults of Westminster Presbyterian Church for the 2011-2012 church year.  Descriptions of these activities are listed below.  Click here to see the current activity brochure.  Please use the sign-up form below to register for these events.

 

Abraham Lincoln - America in Crisis (February 20, 2012) - George Frein, Professor Emeritus of Philosophy and Religion at the University of North Dakota, will perform as Abraham Lincoln.  George served as a scholar/performer for the Great Plains Chautauqua Society from 1986-1997.  He has portrayed John Adams, John Winthrop, John James Audubon, Abraham Lincoln, Charles Wilson Peale, and Dr. Seuss.  Lunch will be in our Fellowship Hall at 12:00 p.m.  The cost is $10 per person.

Greenville County Museum of Art (March 20, 2012) - Greenville's prestigious in-depth collection of works by America's Painter, Andrew Wyeth, spans seventy years of the artist's masterful watercolors.  WPC member Mary Lawson will be our tour guide.  The tour will begin at 10:30 a.m.  The church bus and wheelchairs will be available.

Dementia & Alzheimers (April 19, 2012) - Dr. John Taylor MD, Psychiatrist, will be our lunch guest and will discuss various aspects of Dementia and Alzheimers.  Lunch will be in our Fellowship Hall at 12:00 p.m.  The cost is $6.50 per person.

Abbeville, South Carolina (May 8, 2012) - The senior adults will travel to Abbeville, South Carolina, to tour historic sites with local historian Fred Lewis ($15 per person).  Lunch will be at Yoders Dutch Oven.
