"It's Elementary!" and Tweens

"It's Elementary!" (Grades 1-3)

Tweens (Grades 4-5)

These programs, led by volunteers along with Westminster's associate pastor Barbara Stoop, meet Wednesday afternoons during the school year.  Students arrive right after school and have a little fun time.  Snacks are served at 3:00.  The program begins at 3:10 and ends at 4:30.  Everyone is invited!

Service Projects: During the school year, we may send home information about service projects that our groups are doing.  This is part of our curriculum in which we try to teach that sharing with others is a large part of what it means to be a follower of Jesus.

Behavior: We ask that parents remind children that they are invited into our church and are expected to behave in our programs.  For the younger children, we have a series of "points" they can earn.  Points are redeemed at the Prize Closet.  Older children use a different system, but we expect them all to follow these simple rules:  1) respect others, 2) listen when teachers speak, 3) keep hands and feet to yourself, 4) always wear your name tag, 5) stay in your area of the building, 6) treat others as you would have them treat you, and 7) respect the church's property.  We try and deal with any behavior problems but will contact parents if necessary.

Donation: There is no charge for our Wednesday after-school programs.  With snacks, prizes, supplies, and end-of-the-year trophies and carnival, it costs approximately $100 per year ($4 per week) per child to run the program.  Church members support the program with their offerings.  Non-church members may make a donation if they would like, but it is not required.

Registration: Watch the Harbinger for information on the 2017-18 year.
